Device for determining contact forces at rail-wheel contact point
We have filed our sixth Indian Patent title “Device for determining contact forces at rail-wheel contact point, and system for calculating lateral force and the method thereof”. The invention fulfils the foregoing needs by providing an assembly of FBG sensors and method of measurement of various forces at rail-wheel contact point using FBG sensors in real time. FBG sensors are mounted on the rail detects these force in terms of strain. Optical instrument, DPU analyzes and processes this strain to generate actual wheel load on the rail in real time. The system also alarms to the driver/users when the lateral force is above safe limit. The method of force calculation has important significance over train stability and safety problems.
